husqvarna string trimmer I had heard that.When we received the trimmer, we cut away the box and rolled the unit out as per instructions which left us with no box to return what we found to be a defective product!
Back to the trimmer.
We assembled the top portion of the handle which is the only assembly required, and followed the instructions to get the thing started, which it did quite easily.
And we were off mowing which it did quite impressively, for about 15 minutes or so.
At that point the handle fell off on one side.
Not the upper part that we assembled a few minutes back, but the lower part that attaches to the trimmer itself.
Upon inspection, it appeared as though someone had only partially tightened the three selftapping machine screws, and the vibration from running the machine caused the holes to strip out and the screws to fall out.
We wrote to mowtownusa immediately with a detailed description of the problem, and their response was to send us three new screws.
At some point, mowtownusa authorized a return, but that was not possible without the heavy duty box that we were required to cut away in step one of this debacle.
Requests for a new box were ignored.
It was at this point that i noticed the other side of the lower handle was bent!
I swore quite a bit, then emailed mowtownusa to let them know about the newest problem just in case they had started giving a damn.
So now, about a month later, we were back to mowing again.
The left, fixed side of the handle was strong as all getout.
For about 25 feet, at which point one of the wheels fell off.
The washernut that held it in place fell off and was nowhere to be found, and the machine was on its side again.
We spent a lot of time, and money fixing a brand new product.
We never received satisfaction from mowtownusa and would advise people to steer clear of them.
We also give husqvarna low marks for poor design and shoddy assembly.
That problem was quickly solved by the local dealer for free.
Damn nice saw once its running, but husqvarna needs get on the ball with their quality problems or risk becoming just another junk dealer.
