Look for products made from organic items.
Because pet stains are organic stains themselves, cleaners using organic products are the best at getting them out.
Vinegar and water many people report having just as good success, and sometimes more, with mixing up their own cleaner to get the stain out.
This can save you money as well.
Mixing up equal parts of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and blotting with a towel is a good solution that works well.
Remember to test on a small hidden patch of carpet first.
The vinegar will get rid of the smell as well as the actual stain.
Detergent and water laundry detergent gets out stains in your laundry so why not use it on your carpet as well.
Mix up some laundry detergent with some water to apply to the stain and scrub.
You only need to use a couple of tablespoons of detergent with some hot water and then it can be poured or sprayed on.
This process is similar to using a steam cleaner on the stain.
Peroxide using peroxide on stains on the carpet is a well known fix as well.
Again, be sure that you test a spot on your carpet the first time you try this to be sure that it will not dye or bleach your carpet.
Mix some with some water in a spray bottle and spray on the stain and then scrub.
This solution is also known for getting out the smell of the urine as well.
Remember, using spray on perfume type carpet sprays only temporarily covers up the smell of the stain.
